The way forward without Pete: It’s not the end of the story, just a new chapter

It’s time for us to answer an important question: What does Project Konstantin do now that Pete is no longer with us? We know that for most of you, Pete wasn’t just the face of PK, he was PK. So, it’s natural to wonder “what happens now?”.

When Tanya died, Pete asked us (Jana and Halyna) if we will continue PK with him, if not, he would close the organisation. Of course, we said “yes, we’re with you, we’re not quitting”. When Pete joined the military, he made both of us promise to continue his work if anything happens to him. Over the course of the last 6 months of his life, he would reaffirm our commitment to this promise in video calls and videos several times. He wanted to make sure that Project Konstantin continues to exist even if he is no longer with us.

And now, it is time for us to fulfil the promise we made to Pete. Project Konstantin will continue to support the Ukrainian military, with Jana and Halyna as co-directors. Pete once told us that he wants to make the 67th Brigade the most well-equipped brigade in Ukraine. And it makes sense that he felt so strongly about helping this brigade — they welcomed him with open arms when he was still a volunteer and treated him like a brother. This relationship got even stronger when Pete joined the military — huddling together in trenches in the cold with the sound of russian artillery in the distance. That is why we have decided to “adopt” Pete’s dream of equipping the 67th Brigade as our own. Halyna has met these guys several times and Jana has blurred their faces on videos countless times. They are not only Pete’s family, but they are also ours.

Obviously, without Pete, we are not able to do casevac. So, what does the road ahead look like? Well, first, we’re going to finish Campaign 22. The target of the campaign is still only half of what the battalion actually needs, but it is a start.

Once Campaign 22 is completed, we will continue to support the 67th Brigade with equipment and Starlink “parents”, so that the defenders don’t have to pay for their own Starlink subscriptions. Our ultimate goal is to help as many as possible of our defenders stay alive so that they can return to their loved ones. Thank you for your support and love. Slava Ukraïni! Thank you so much to everyone for your donations.
